My Music

jdilla

I’m dumping all of this music here and any new stuff will go here too.  I just want people to hear my music and listen to what I have to say.

Anyway, if you are an aspiring artist or Hip-Hop connoisseur please enjoy and think about what impact you want to make on the world.  This was just a hobby to me and it grew into something much larger so it was only right for me to have a purpose.  Young artists, its so easy to get started in the game now.  All you need is a nice computer, some good speakers, headphones, and a microphone.  Download some beats and get to work.  This is your culture too.

For individual tracks or to download my entire Phat Kid Tendencies and/or Black Bobby’s Negro Dialect mixtapes, check out Bobby’s Bandcamp.  On Bandcamp you can preview each track, download them for free, or download the entire mixtapes for free. Bandcamp is dope!

I call myself the “realest rapper alive” because I’m not obsessed with being the best- contrary to what you might hear on my records.  I just want to represent “real” in a way that other rap artists don’t.  Jay-Z said “believe half of what you hear even if its spat by me.”  Well, that’s true for me too.  My art is based on my real life but I have to exaggerate a little to tell the stories.  You know?  Real life sucks!  Ha.  Kidding.  Seriously.  My life is great.  Everyday is a gift so pour one out for all the sperm that didn’t make it.

Btw, my sound is supposed to be “College Dropout Kanye meets Tupac.” I got purty close.  Enjoy.

Phat Kid Tendencies is my first full-length mixtape.  Click HERE to read about the progress of Phat Kid Tendencies.

Kowtowing neither to commercial-rap corniness or underground backpacker restrictions, Black Bobby’s music exists in a rarely occupied in-between sonic space that recalls golden age lyricism and crackly beats without getting stuck in the past.” – Arielle Castillo, Miami New Times

Black Bob is a fresh and much needed voice in hip hop.  Finally, a rapper smart enough to ‘get it’ and funny enough to make you listen.  Plus anyone who name checks David Gergen in a rhyme is my hero.  Unique talent always freezes me in my tracks.  That’s what happened first time i heard Black Bobby, and I haven’t stopped listening since.” – Amaechi Uzoigwe (CEO of Definitive Jux & Co-Founder of Fairtilizer)

Radio interviews with me about Phat Kid Tendencies:

Peep my hour long interview with Jay Bee on Florida International University’s radio station.  The interview isn’t all talking.  A good portion of this is spent playing my music.  But we do talk.  We talk politics, real life, music, the Millennial Generation and the future of the American Dream.  It really is deeper than rap, people!

Yo!  I did another hour long radio interview here in Miami- this time at the University of Miami for their locals only show “Miami Time” on WVUM hosted by awesome UM student Gio.  I love Tha U and was so happy to talk about my mixtape, my next project (Black Bobby’s Negro Dialect), and my background in service/politics.  Yes, and we played the music of course.  Check it!

Phat Kid Tendencies was an introduction to me and my life story. I wrote a pretty naked album based on traditional, old school Hip-Hip. It came out great. I want to push myself going forward to preserve that spirit while also incorporating more modern sounds through my beat selection. I’ll always keep it real but I think its important to reach a broader audience with my message.

Black Bobby’s Negro Dialect is SQUARE BIZ Entertainment’s fist project to support the Black Bobby for President of Hip-Hop Campaign. On this tape, Black Bobby moves beyond some of the restrictions of Phat Kid Tendencies by incorporating Dirty South dance beats, Dubstep and Electro music while also providing a healthy dose of hard pounding Hip-Hop. US Senator Harry Reid said about now President Barack Obama during the presidential campaign in 2008 that Obama has “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” Black Bobby is using his negro dialect on this tape to take our message to the people and break down the barriers of communication that exist between us. You will hear messages of freedom, unity, and fun. Black Bobby’s Negro Dialect is a mixtape for the summer to keep you thinking, dancing, and chasing your dreams.

HUGE THANKS to everyone that supported this project and all of my projects ever.  Also, much love to the SBe fam. SBe, waddup?
